Today, continuing from yesterday, we would like to introduce some kawaii in the Wasako store. The newest one is “Sarubobo. We received it as a souvenir.
Sarubobo” means ‘baby monkey’ in the Hida dialect because of the similarity of the red face.
It is a Hida Takayama specialty that is made with wishes and thoughts such as “May your children grow up healthy and happy,” “May your daughters (grandchildren) have babies,” and “May your children and grandchildren live happily and happily together. It is a Hida Takayama specialty made with the wish that as many people as possible will be happy.
The Sarubo-chan that you received as a souvenir is playing hide-and-seek in the store, so please look for it when you visit Wasako.
↓ Red Sarubobo are also available for rental kimonos and furisode (long-sleeved kimono) as an option for the tea ceremony experience.
