Today is the Vernal Equinox.
Vernal Equinox Day was established as a national holiday in 1948,
and became the day we know it today to cherish nature and life.
Prior to that, it was the day for the Spring Imperial Ancestors’ Ceremony,
which honored the ancestors of the Imperial family.
Because of the significance of this ceremony, it is considered a day to praise nature and cherish living things.
It occurs around March 20th each year, and is the day when the length of day and night are roughly equal.
今日は春分の日（しゅんぶんのひ）です。
春分の日は1948年に国民の祝日として制定され、現在のように「自然や生命を大切にする日」となりました。
それより前は、皇室の祖先を祀る「春季皇霊祭（しゅんきこうれいさい）」という儀式が行われる日でした。
その儀式の意味から「自然をたたえ、生物をいつくしむ日」とされています。
毎年3月20日頃にあり、昼と夜の長さがほぼ等しくなる日です。
At Wasako, we prepared matcha green tea along with Kusa Daifuku.
The smell of mugwort made me feel the spring.
